using ‘Philophonetics’

Date  :   a day in Aug 2009  (to be confirmed, pls register your interest. )
Time:  10- 5pm

Every now and then someone asks me about Philophonetics & Psychophonetics…..

having heard that these words have to do with ‘Action Therapies’ (that is…. psychotherapy that incorporates movement and dramatic elements as well as or even instead of the talking we usually identify with counselling & psychotherapy) ………….
and having heard that I practice as a Psychophonetics Psychotherapist.

Well it is time to see if we can gather a small group of people interested in exploring Philophonetics.

 .

Philophonetics was founded (out of an Anthroposophical picture of human ‘psychology’) by Yehuda Tagar over the last two decades. The training continues now in Sth Africa and the U.K. I trained with Yehuda in Australia .

While ‘Philophonetics’ (meaning ‘The Love of Sounds’) can be applied to many different learning situations, particularly in drama training, it’s main application to date has been in Psychophonetics Psychotherapy.

‘Psychophonetics’ means ‘The Sounds of the Soul’.

 .

This workshop will be an introductory experience of Philophonetics, with a demonstration of its use in a Psychophonetics session. Some theory will be included.

This is an experiential workshop and will offer participants the chance to engage with their ‘inner life’ via movement and sound activities….however there is freedom within this and respect for each person’s unique approach…. nothing will be imposed or expected.

No prior experience in drama or movement of voice is required.

.

A following workshop (to be advised) will build upon the learning to offer a deeper level of experience.

Attendance at the first workshop will be required.
